The Australian Federal Government and State Governments provide a range of grants and funding options that are available to eligible businesses. These grants are to help businesses overcome the impact of the COVID-19 restrictions and to help grow their business.

2021 COVID-19 Business Grant (NSW)
NSW Government (Open)
COVID-19 business grant: If you’re a business, sole trader or not-for-profit organisation in NSW and you’ve been impacted by the recent COVID-19 restrictions, you may be eligible for a one-off grant of $7,500, $10,500 or $15,000.
JobSaver: a support program funded jointly by the NSW and Commonwealth Governments to maintain employment of staff for small and medium businesses impacted by the current health restrictions – up to $10,000 per week.
Microbusiness grant: if you’re a micro-business (small business or sole trader with an annual turnover of more than $30,000 and under $75,000) impacted by the current Greater Sydney COVID-19 restrictions, you may be able to apply for a $1,500 payment per fortnight of restrictions from late July 2021.
Tennants and Landlord Commercial Costs protection will be offered for impacted tenants in commercial and retail tenancies in NSW. Landlords with commercial properties may be eligible for a land tax concession if they provide rent reductions to their tenants.
Export Assistance Grant (NSW)

The NSW Government is launching a range of support measures for NSW businesses at each stage of their export journey. The package includes a range of financial ($10,000) and non-financial assistance, export capability-building and tailored engagement with our trade professionals in NSW and overseas.
• The Export Assistance Grant program will help NSW businesses recover from drought, bushfires and COVID-19 by providing co-funding to identify and access new export markets and re-enter previous export markets.
• Grants of up to $10,000 per eligible business will support up to 1,000 NSW eligible businesses
• Matched on a dollar-for-dollar basis, funding will centre on export marketing and development activities, such as market research, participation in international tradeshows and trade missions, inbound business support, e-commerce development and marketing materials.
Arts and Culture Rescue & Restart Grant (NSW)

The Rescue and Restart package ($50 Million) is designed to assist NSW arts and cultural organisations now, and so they are in a position to restart operations when health guidelines permit.
Funding will be available to NSW not-for-profit arts and cultural organisations across the state on a case by case basis.
Business Cost Assistance Round Four (VIC)

The Victorian Government’s Business Costs Assistance Program gives eligible businesses that had not previously applied for the Program in June, or have since become eligible, with the opportunity to apply for the equivalent of the July Top-Up Payments.
The program offers grants of $4800 to eligible businesses, including employing and non-employing businesses, depending on their industry sector.
Not-for-profit organisations that are not registered for GST and have an annual turnover between $75,000 and $150,000 can apply for a grant. To be eligible, your organisation must meet all other eligibility criteria.
Commercial Landlord Hardship Fund (VIC)

This program offers grants to small landlords who are doing the right thing by waiving rent for their tenants as part of the Commercial Tenancy Relief Scheme.
Eligible commercial landlords with total taxable landholdings under $3 million that waive rent for their tenants between 28 July 2021 and 15 January 2022 can apply for grants of up to $6000 per tenancy. In cases of acute hardship, small landlords may be eligible for grants of up to $10,000 per tenancy.
To be eligible for a grant, landlords must provide a rent waiver of at least 50 per cent to their tenants through the Commercial Tenancy Relief Scheme, and use the grant to offset the waiver
Small Business COVID Hardship Fund (VIC)

Providing $10,000 grants for eligible small and medium businesses that have experienced a reduction in turnover of at least 70%.
The program offers grants of $10,000 to eligible small and medium-size businesses who have experienced a reduction in turnover of at least 70% (Including employing and non-employing businesses). This program will allow more businesses that have previously not received support.
Victorian Events Support Package (VIC)

The Victorian Events Support Package supports event organisers, hosts and suppliers as they manage the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent lockdown restrictions.
- Independent Cinema Support Program: up to $12,000 to eligible independent cinema operators
- Live Performance Support Program (Presenters) up to $7000 to eligible live performance
- Live Performance Support Program (Suppliers) will support eligible suppliers of goods and services involved with live performance events, including musicians and performers, with grants of $500 per event where the events they were contracted to support could not proceed.
- Sustainable Event Business Program, providing grants of up to $250,000 by Expression of Interest to eligible major event organisers, hosts and suppliers.
- Impacted Public Events Support Program, which delivers grants of up to $25,000 to eligible event organisers and up to $10,000 to eligible suppliers, by invite only.
Business Competitiveness Program (VIC)
Victoria Government (Closes July 4 2021)
The Business Competitiveness Program will assist small and medium manufacturers with an existing presence in Victoria to expand their manufacturing operations and implement new manufacturing technologies and processes that provide a critical foundation for generating sustainable new local jobs.
Grants of up to 33 per cent of eligible project expenditure, up to a maximum grant amount of $500,000, will be allocated on a competitive basis for projects to be completed within 18 months of receiving the grant.
Eligible projects include the purchase and commissioning of capital equipment, manufacturing product and process improvements, prototyping, evaluation and testing of new products and processes, and supply chain capability development.
The Business Competitiveness Program will be delivered in up to two competitive funding rounds per year April to June and then August to September 2021.
Technology Adoption & Innovation Program (VIC)

Victorian small and medium enterprises can receive funding to adopt or develop new innovative and commercial technology through the Technology Adoption and Innovation Program. Grants of up to $50,000 are available for two different streams via the co-contribution model (minimum of 20k investment).
Stream One: SMEs looking to implement new digital and innovative technologies.
Stream Two: SMEs looking to implement defined projects to develop commercial technology or digital products.
Investment Fast-Track Fund (VIC)

Part of the Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund, the Investment Fast-Track Fund will focus on funding activities (capped at $500,000 per activity) that will mobilise strategic investment projects through fast-track of business case development and planning for medium to longer-term projects in regions, and increase the pipeline of investment-ready projects, with a focus on leveraging private investment, boosting employment and improving the liveability of rural and regional Victoria.
Jobs Victoria Fund (VIC)

The Jobs Victoria Fund is providing $250 million in wage subsidies to assist Victorian businesses to employ at least 10,000 people who are looking for work. Jobs Victoria wage subsidies of up to $20,000 are available for eligible employers who hire eligible jobseekers. Wage subsidies can be used to meet the costs of taking on new employees for the first 12 months of employment.
Export Recovery Package (VIC)

The Victorian Government has announced a $15.7 million export recovery package to address logistics and supply chain issues caused by the pandemic and establish new export channels.
Businesses will be connected to international markets through virtual trade missions as well as assistance to adapt their export strategies to respond to the rapidly changing global market.
Trade Mission Program (VIC)

The Trade Mission Program helps Victorian businesses to expand their export potential with international markets by providing opportunities to:
• Build international connections, foster relationships and identify partnering opportunities
• Attract foreign investment
• Secure local distributors and / or importers
• Understand regulatory requirements in international markets
• Acquire international orders for your product and / or service
Trade Missions are generally sector-based and programs are tailored to each sector. Trade Missions run throughout the year.
COVID-19 Business Support Grant (SA)
South Australian Government (Closes Sept 30)
Grants of $3,000 for employing businesses and $1,000 for non-employing businesses are available for eligible businesses whose turnover has declined by 30% or more as a result of the COVID‑19 health restrictions in the week commencing 20 July 2021
Small Business Lockdown Assistance Grant – Round 2 (WA)

The Western Australian Government has announced another round of targeted Small Business Lockdown Assistance Grants to assist small businesses most impacted by the recent circuit-breaker four-day lockdown and interim restrictions.
The grant program will provide $3000 cash flow support to small businesses in industry sectors most impacted and will be made available to eligible small businesses across Perth, Peel and regional Western Australia.
2021 COVID-19 Business Support Grants (QLD)
Queensland Government (Closes Late Nov 2021)
Financial support through the 2021 COVID-19 Business Support Grants. $1,000 to $30,000 grants will be available to eligible small and medium businesses and not for profit organisations, and large tourism and hospitality businesses and not for profit organisations across Queensland affected by the August 2021 COVID-19 lockdowns.
• Non-Employing Sole Trader $1,000
• Employing Small Business $10,000
• Employing Medium Business $15,000
• Employing Large Tourism Business $30,000
Business Basics Grant (QLD)

You may be eligible for a single up-front fixed grant payment of $5,000 (excluding GST). This grant program is competitively assessed. Not all applications will be funded. The Business Basics grants program provides support to businesses to increase core skills and adopt best practices.
This support includes funded activities in 5 priorities:
• Training and coaching
• Website build or upgrades
• Professional business advice
• Strategic marketing services
• Business continuity and succession
The program is administered by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT).
Back to Work Program (QLD)
Queensland Government (Now Open)
The Back to Work Regional program gives Queensland employers the confidence to take on new employees and to use this opportunity to grow their businesses.
Eligible employers will receive payments of up to $20,000 to hire an unemployed jobseeker in a full-time position.
Social Enterprise Grants (QLD)
Queensland Government (Sept 2021 to June 2022)
The Social Enterprise Growth Grants program will provide grants to eligible established Queensland social enterprises for capability and capacity building that supports the business to scale up or adapt.
The social enterprise must have potential within the next 2 years to grow the business including its social impact and increase employees.
Your social enterprise may be eligible for financial assistance of between $5,000 and $25,000 (excluding GST).
SME Recovery Loan Scheme (Aust Gov)

The Commonwealth Government’s SME Recovery Loan Scheme provides eligible small and medium enterprises (SMEs) access to loans of up to $5 million over a term of up to 10 years.
The Scheme is designed to provide continued assistance to small and medium enterprises that are dealing with the economic impacts of COVID-19.
Small Business Digital Champions (Aust Gov)

Small Business Digital Champions provided 100 small businesses with support for a comprehensive digital transformation of their business.
• Online content development
• Digital training.
This grant is closed to applications. Showcasing of the digital transformation from participating businesses will be completed via the case studies.
Business Events Grants Program (Aust Gov)
Australian Government (Open – for events held in 2021)
The Australian Government announced it would provide $50 million to create the Business Events Grants program. Support would target larger, multi-day business to business events that promote the Australian Government’s industry priorities and sectors.
The upfront grant ($10,000–$250,000) will meet up to 50 per cent of costs incurred in participating at a pre-approved business-to-business events, such as space hire, design and manufacture, plus travel, accommodation and cancellation fees.
Entrepreneur Matched Funds Growth Program (Aust Gov)

Funding of between $2500 (ex GST) and $20,000 (ex GST), covering up to 50% of eligible project costs. Applicable to businesses who have received one of the Entrepreneur Growth services, you can apply for a Growth Grant. With the grant, you can engage external expertise to implement the recommendations in your Growth roadmap or plan.
Export Market Development Grant EMDG (Austrade)

The Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) reimburses 50% of expenses incurred for export promotional activities to existing and potential Australian exporters, and may include:
• Overseas representation expenses
• Marketing consultant expenses
• Free samples expenses
• Trade fairs, seminars, in-store promotions expenses
• Promotional literature and advertising expenses
• Overseas buyers expenses
• Registration and/or insurance of eligible intellectual property expenses.
Funding is provided to compensate eligible export businesses up to 50% of their promotional expenses above $5000, up to a maximum of $150,000, provided total eligible expenses incurred amount to at least $15,000.

Upskill My Business connects you to short courses, online events and resources from the state’s top education providers and industry experts. Courses on offer can help you regain ground to find more customers, better manage cash flow or just prepare for new market conditions
Training and Education Course Contribution (AIM)

In order to support the development of Australia’s workforce long term, AIM has launched the COVID Stimulus Fund. This fund can be used by eligible students and organisations to:
Apply a contribution towards tuition fees for AIM Vocational Qualifications capped at:
• $3,200 for online Diplomas
• $2,000 for online Certificate IVs
Provide an additional 2 training seats at no cost to organisations who book in 3 or more employees to an AIM short course
