The Australian Federal Government and State Governments provide a range of grants and funding options that are available to eligible businesses. These grants are to help businesses to grow their business and expand into new industry sectors.

Disaster Recover Small Business Grant (NSW)

If you’re a small business or a not-for-profit organisation in NSW and you’ve been directly impacted by storms and floods, you may be eligible for a storm and flood disaster recovery small business grant. This disaster recovery grant of up to $50,000 is to help pay for the costs of clean-up and reinstatement of a small business or not-for-profit organisation’s operations.
Gambling Prevention, Innovation & Technology Grant (NSW)

Through Prevention, Innovation and Technology Grants, we offer funding for one-off, unique projects in the areas of technology, prevention and harm minimisation. Up to $2.5 million from the Responsible Gambling Fund was made available in that year for innovative projects that prevent and reduce gambling harm in communities across NSW.
SafeWork Small Business Rebate (NSW)

If you are a NSW small business owner or sole trader who employs less than 50 full-time workers, you may be eligible for a SafeWork small business rebate of up to $1,000 on the cost of equipment that makes your workplace safer. Charities and not-for-profit organisations can also apply.
High Emitting Industry Grant (NSW)

Funding is available to help high-emitting manufacturing and mining facilities in NSW develop and deploy decarbonisation projects, from feasibility studies through to commissioning. Grannts of up to $350k are available.
Supporting decarbonisation in high emitting facilities – help NSW manufacturing and mining operations deliver value for money emissions reduction projects.
Accelerating transformative decarbonisation projects – prioritise innovative and ambitious low emissions projects to fast track NSW’s progress to net zero.
Helping industry thrive in a low carbon economy – build local skills, knowledge and jobs to ensure NSW industry prospers in a new low carbon economy.
Distillery Support – Business Growth Fit-for-Purpose grants (VIC)
Victoria Government (Closes March 25th 2025)
The $20 million Distillery Door Program will focus on developing skills, increasing tourism opportunities, expanding businesses through infrastructure investment and develop and grow exports, supporting employment and economic opportunities across Victoria. The Distillery Support – Business Growth Fit-for-Purpose grants are part of the Distillery Door Program. The Business Growth Fit-for-Purpose grants will provide direct funding for tailored projects designed to help distillers take the next step in the development of their business.
Grants aim to:
• Support individual distilleries to build resilience and increase business capability, capacity and efficiency through investment and improvements of on-site infrastructure, sustainability and safety improvements, export capability and marketing.
• Ensure Victoria continues to be a premium producer of distilled alcoholic beverages and remains globally competitive
• Enable Victoria to become a leader in Australian distilled alcoholic beverage production.
Industry Growth Fund (VIC)

The program provides an Advisory Service for startups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) undertaking innovative commercialisation and/or growth projects that are within the priority areas of the Australian Government’s National Reconstruction Fund (NRF) and help build Australia’s manufacturing capability for the future.
Eligible businesses will be connected with an Industry Growth Program Adviser. The Adviser will provide specialised advice to support your commercialisation and growth opportunities and priorities. Once you have received this advice, you may choose to apply for:
• Grants of $50,000 to $250,000 to support early-stage commercialisation projects
• Grants of $100,000 to $5 million for commercialisation and growth projects.
Timber Supply Chain Resilience Package (VIC)

On 23 May 2023 the Victorian Government announced that native timber harvesting in Victorian state forests will end on 1 January 2024.The Timber Supply Chain Resilience Package will provide support to Victorian manufacturers to access grants, professional advice, and planning services to support business transition and to plan for the future. Businesses may only be eligible if they process native hardwood sourced from Victorian state forests to manufacture products such as (but not limited to) flooring, stairs, furniture, doors, windows, architectural features or pallets.
Grants from $3k to $14K are available.
Business Growth Fund Basics Grant (Qld)
Queensland Government (Open)
The Business Basics grants program provides support to businesses to increase core skills and adopt best practice. The program offers $7,500 (excluding GST) in funding. If successful, funding is paid upfront on approval. Successful applicants don’t have to co-contribute to this grant but must pay for any related expenses in excess of the $7,500 grant funding.
The Business Boost grants program assists small businesses to enhance their efficiency and productivity through a grant payment of between $10,000 and $20,000 (excluding GST). If successful, funding is paid in 2 milestone payments.
Manufacturing Energy Efficiency Grant (Qld)
Queensland Government (Closes June 30th 2025)
The Manufacturing Energy Efficiency Grant (MEEG) program provides grants of up to $50,000 for Queensland-based manufacturers to improve energy efficiency measures and technology, reduce energy usage, costs and emissions. Lighting upgrades may be eligible for up to 100% of project costs. Applications for other eligible projects can seek funding of 75% of the project costs.
Better Local Business Grant Program (Qld)

The Better Local Business grant program provides support to chambers of commerce, small and family business associations, industry associations and local councils to bring local business owners and stakeholders together to address key business concerns, issues or opportunities in their region. The program offers $2,500 (excluding GST) in funding. If successful, funding is paid upfront on approval. Successful applicants don’t have to co-contribute to this grant but must pay for any related expenses in excess of the $2,500 in grant funding.
Seed Innovation Grant (SA)
South Australia Government (Open)
The Seed-Start program equips innovative, early-stage South Australian startups with grant funding to support the commercialisation of an innovative product or service.
Grants of between $20,000 and $500,000 are available to fund eligible activity with a maximum project duration of three years. Matched funding requirements will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Venture Capital Fund (SA)

The SAVCF has been structured as a co-investment fund, requiring each initial investment into an eligible company to be matched with at least 50% investment from other venture capital funds, high net-worth’s or other sophisticated investors.

Advancing Renewables Program (Aust Gov)

The Advancing Renewables Program supports a range of development, demonstration and pre-commercial deployment projects. This includes opportunities to optimise the transition to renewable electricity, commercialise clean hydrogen and support the transition to low emissions metals. Matched funding of between $100,000 and $50 million.
Entrepreneur Matched Funds Growth Program (Aust Gov)

Funding of between $2500 (ex GST) and $20,000 (ex GST), covering up to 50% of eligible project costs. Applicable to businesses who have received one of the Entrepreneur Growth services, you can apply for a Growth Grant. With the grant, you can engage external expertise to implement the recommendations in your Growth roadmap or plan.
Modern Manufacturing Initative (Aust Gov)

The Manufacturing Integration Stream supports projects that integrate Australian businesses into domestic and international value chains, propelling their goods and services into new markets. It provides co-funding to encourage linkages between local businesses and domestic and international firms, increasing scale, supply capacity, and the ability to innovate. It will also facilitate the adoption of product standards and greater sharing and transfer of knowledge.
Applicable Industry Sectors: Space, Medical, Food & beverage, Resources, Defence, Recycling, and Clean Energy.
Moon to Mars Supply Chain Capability Improvement Grants (Aust Gov)

The Australian Moon to Mars Supply Chain Capability Improvement Grants provide Australian businesses with grant funds to build capacity to deliver products and services into domestic and/or international space industry supply chains that could support Moon to Mars activities.
Grants from $250,000 up to $1 million to fund up to 75 per cent of eligible project expenditure.
Export Market Development Grant (Austrade)

Grants are available in 3 Tier Stages. Each tier provides a different level of support for SMEs as they grow their export markets. The lengths of these grants reflect the different stages of an exporter’s journey.
Grant Covers:
• Overseas representation expenses
• Marketing consultant expenses
• Free samples expenses
• Trade fairs, seminars, in-store promotions expenses
• Promotional literature and advertising expenses
• Overseas buyers expenses
• Registration and/or insurance of eligible intellectual property expenses.
